StylePad uses a simple approach to creating style sheets that saves you having to remember the names of properties or the values that can be assigned to them. Style properties are split into 13 named groups: select a group and the available properties are shown, along with an explanation of what each property does. Select a property to see the available values for that property. Double-click the value you want to use and StylePad creates a style rule for it (or changes the value of the selected rule).

As you work, a built-in preview updates automatically to show the effect of the style rules. Unlike many other CSS editors, you can specify any web page on your system to use for real-time previewing, letting you see exactly how the page will look with the completed style sheet. StylePad stores a history-list of recently-previewed pages.

When you're done, you can save the result as a .css file for linking to web pages using the <LINK> tag, or save to the clipboard as an HTML <STYLE> block ready for pasting into a page.
