Blowfish encryption
Blowfish is a fast, symmetric 64-bit block encryption cipher developed by Bruce Schneier in 1993. Blowfish uses a variable key length of between 32 bits (4 characters) and 448 bits (56 characters). Despite extensive analysis and numerous ‘brute-force’ attempts to break it, no significant weaknesses have been found and the Blowfish algorithm is as yet unbroken. If a long enough key if used, the time required to discover the key is reckoned to be many times the current age of the universe.
